Some One On One!!!

0

Now who doesn’t like some one on one?  It sounds exciting to even say it.  It could be a game of 21 (basketball) with a friend, a game of 500 Rummy against grandma, or some one on one time spent with a significant other.  In this post, we are talking about one on one with your significant other!!!

How Much Do You Know?

I ask you, how much do you know about your significant other?  You may be thinking, “I’ve been married to him/her for 20 years…I know all I need to know.”  But do you?  Do you know their favorite color?  Do you know what they like to do for fun?  What is their favorite article of clothing?  I know, these may seem like pretty basic things, but you can’t imagine how knowing them can be important.

Knowing Shows You Care

When you know something about your significant other that they may have told you one time, or you picked up by observation, it shows you are paying attention.  It’s the little things really.  Where are they ticklish?  Where is their favorite place to eat?  What’s the one thing you can do that immediately tells them you love them?  When you know the answers to these questions, it can truly strengthen your relationship.

But What About This One On One Thing???

Yes, back to the one on one.  You need to plan time to have one on one with your significant other.  I know it can be hard to take time for this, but it’s important.  Plan dinners out.  Plan to go dancing.  If they love bowling, go bowl a few rounds.  Put a reminder in your calendar called Date Night.  You may not actually be able to have date night that night, but the fact that it is in there will remind you to take some sort of action.  Put an entry for every other week and make sure you take some one on one time with that special person in your life.

The Takeaway

One on one time is critical if you want to build a strong, lasting relationship with your significant other.  You need to share some common interests and you need to have fun together.  When was the last time you laughed together?  This could be as simple as playing a game.  Making this one on one time a priority can make the difference in whether you have a long lasting relationship or not.  Sure, you can roll the dice and ignore this post…but I wouldn’t if I were you.  Make your significant other a priority today.  They deserve it and so do you!!!
