Three Christmas Gifts For Wisdom

0

Who doesn’t want to be a little wiser???  Maybe some people will say, “I’m good the way I am” but trust me, they want to be wiser too.  They just don’t want to admit it.  When it comes to Christmas gifts, there are some gifts that you can give people that will help them become wiser and could potentially even change their lives for the better.

Here are three gifts I recommend…

1.  Books, Books, Books!!!

I know, this may seem like an obvious one, but probably one of the most important.  People who read tend to be less stressed, more knowledgeable, and more likely to be financially independent.   85% of self-made millionaires read.  Harry Truman said, “Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers.”  Giving the gift of knowledge, in the form of a book, can help transform a person’s life.  A buddy of mine bought me the book of Exodus by Dennis Prager for my birthday.  No one had ever bought me a book before!!!  I was very grateful.

Wisdom can be found in just about any book, even in novels where characters make wise decisions.  But to have the most impact, give the gift of a self-improvement book, a financial book, or a happiness book.  When people receive books like these, they start the book with a sense of what to look for.  And people tend to find what they are looking for.  So, be very selective when choosing a book and have an idea of what the person is looking to learn about.

Note:  Not everyone likes to read.  For the people who don’t like the read and prefer to learn from videos, you can get them a great course on sites like SkillShare or Udemy.

2.  A Journal

Journaling is the practice of writing down your thoughts, plans, and insights on a daily basis.  People who journal tend to be less stressed, have stronger immune systems, have sharper memories, and have happier moods.  A number of very successful people, both financially and spiritually, journal on a daily basis.  Journaling is a hot topic on YouTube as well, with many, many videos out there providing different ways of journaling.  A great gift would be to purchase a journal for the person along with a well written card that shares with them how journaling can improve people’s lives.  Perhaps you could even write down some links to some great journaling videos on YouTube to help them out.

As of today, I do NOT journal, but plan to pick it up in the New Year.  I have already asked Santa for a journal that I heard about on YouTube by Dean Graziosi.  He created a journal called, The Better Life Journal, which helps guide people through daily journaling.  Here is my affiliate link to the the journal I asked Santa to bring me:

3.  Seminar

You can buy someone you care about a ticket to a seminar.  Or better yet, buy a ticket for yourself as well and go together.  You could make it a day or weekend of it.  You could purchase them a ticket to an educational, spiritual, or self-improvement seminar.  My business partner and I look forward to seminars in our field and opportunities to learn.  To make a bigger impact, understand what your friend or family member are interested in and get them a ticket to a seminar on that subject matter.

One of my sons is very interested in action figures and is a huge fan of Marvel and superheroes.  He collects and sells action figures online.  In past Christmases, we have bought him tickets to a Comic-Con where he can dress up as his favorite superhero, Spiderman, and we all go as a family.  We turn it into a family event, and have on occasion all dressed up.  My sons love to see all the costumes and action figures that are there.  For my son who buys and sells action figures, he is able to talk to vendors in the field and learn from them.  A fun and educational experience!!!

Conclusion

It can be true that gifts of wisdom are not for everyone.  Some people could even be offended if you bought them a self-improvement book or a ticket to a seminar to help improve their lives, so you have to know the person you are buying for.  You know the people in your life that would appreciate these gifts of wisdom and those who would not.  For the ones who would appreciate these types of gifts, make them personal and in the area you know they want to learn.  For these people, these gifts are not only life changing, but also awesome in their eyes!!!

Share with your friends!!!
